The Blue Hat storage con is also from Dorer's. Still in good condition. The clamps hold close and we added pictures so you could see it. Great for storing the hat inside and traveling.

This a has a Beautiful PURE SILVER “50” on the Pure Beaver hatband. It just a really outstanding detail!

So this is a newer hat and it is way out of Dad's expertise! Both Dad and I are very familiar with most pre-1960s hats and this is way different than we are normally accustomed to, we will do our very best to describe this hat!
This has a 4-1/4 inch wide brim, and the Hatband is made from the exact same Pure Beaver.
This is the bit older Pure Beaver and Nothing like you find in todays or yesterdays hats! This brim is very very Soft and Semi-Pliable! Holds a shape Perfectly! And somehow the crown is stiffer but could still be steam shaped. It would just take more time to get that done.
This was worn more than a handful of times and then just stored away in that Blue Hat storage car until now. You can see the leather sweatband has some minor wear on it, the lettering has worn off but we can still see the impression by the sewn joint that states “ HANDCRAFTED DORER'S 7-1/4 NEW MEXICO”. You can see how outstanding their custom work is by looking at the detailing in the sewn joint! You'll never see work done like that in any other hats made by the big manufacturers!
The Reed (the part of the leather sweatband that actually attaches to the hat, that top edge of the leather sweatband) is where you'll find the wear of this was worn a lot of times, this appears to still be in excellent condition. It's completely and securely attached all the way around and still soft and semi-pliable! The only thing we can see is the lettering has worn off. Same with the liner lettering is hard to read.
Dad and Grandson only needed to do very slight steam shaping to get it perfect.
The color is Black! The picture of the whole underside inside the hat box is the best representation of the actual color. We don't know why we can't get the pictures to come out perfectly? It's all the same Black all ver the hat!

NOTE: when we ship Dad's hats out we use strong shipping boxes and each hat we ship is FULLY INSURED and we are no longer going to handle broken box insurance claims. We discovered that one buyer crushed their shipping box and asked for a hefty partial refund. The shipper sent us a picture of the box sitting at the front door and it was NOT CRUSHED? We also discovered that because we were NOT in possession of the box it was impossible for us to file the claim. So now and in the future all claims will be handled by the buyer of the hat or item we ship. Again we ALWAYS carefully pack each hat so it will not be crushed in a good strong shipping box.
